Lucky for us, the motherland has blessed us with natural remedies to combat dull skin. Here is a list of must-have African ingredients to add to your fall skincare regimen:

1.Shea Butter

This is a crowd favorite when it comes to African skin care. Shea butter comes from the Karite tree, aka the Shea tree. It grows naturally in 19 countries spanning from Ethiopia to Senegal. This span is also referred to as the “Shea Belt”. Shea butter is known for being a deep moisturizer consisting of fatty acids, vitamin A, E, and F. It can smooth the appearance of stretch marks, reduce blemishes and wrinkles, and restore your skin's elasticity.

This oil is produced from the Manketti tree found in sub-Saharan Africa and is amazing for skin health. In addition to it being high in antioxidants, Mongongo oil is best known for its acidic makeup. Its linoleic acids help with reducing inflammation in the skin. So for those who have redness or eczema, this is an oil that can help. Its alpha-Eleostearic acid serves as a sun protectant so it can also help block UV rays.
